The Fans For Peace list
is growing (83 names now!) and when it reaches 100 we're going
to get the news to the Goos.... It'd be cool to include some
questions from fans as well. So if you could ask the Goos
anything, what issues would you want to hear their opinions
about? And what do you think would be important for other
fans to hear, even if you already know about it? The questions
will be compiled together into a sort of virtual interview,
and sent along with the list (if you know any folks who might
want to sign the list,
please tell them about it!). The best or most original question
will get a poster flat or two from Absolute Goo, and a Goo
guitar pick, from Miyoko with blessings :-) Deadline is a
week from now, April 30th.... Click here
to send in your questions!!

P.S. Not five minutes after posting that, I read
an interview with Robby, with the following quote:
Interviewer: What's the one question you wish
someone would ask you?
Robby: As a matter of fact, in lieu of current
events, I'd like to state my belief that there is a huge,
huge tragedy about to happen in this country, and this world,
that's based on a very greedy and self-serving government,
and I beg everyone not to let it happen. Some very terrible
shit is about to go down..
Interviewer: I take it you're referring
to the impending doom of war?
Robby: Exactly. I think this is a terribly
wrong thing that is happening right now, and everyone should
check our current administration's motives. It's really a
sad situation that we're dealing with. This is not about politics;
it's a humanitarian call. I actually went out campaigning
with Al Gore for months against all this, and all our fears
are about to come to fruition if people don't start speaking
up very loudly. My wife is Japanese and watches the news from
home and I have learned that the world as a whole is not seeing
things the way our government is. I don't know how they're
fudging these polls because everywhere I go people seem to
be against all this. A lot of people are gonna die....we need
to stop it.

Have you seen the message
board lately? Lots of great new posts on there, including
a visit from The Incredible Lance Diamond! We've also got
lots of great new contributions all over the site, a redesigned
info page, and a growing Fans For
Peace list.... 82
people!! Have you signed
it yet?? When we get 100 Fans For Peace, we're sending it
to the Goos!
The war in Iraq may be over - but the US military
is now shooting into crowds of Iraqis who want a self-led
government and protest the imminent US regime. Meanwhile,
on mainstream news media, they're talking about Syria as the
next target.... And after Syria? Iran, Pakistan, and whoever
stands between Bush and Oil. But we CAN stop this madness
and take our world back! Check out the action
ideas page if you want to get involved....

We now have a brand-new, reliable message
board, courtesy of americangoo.com!
Thanks, Zoo! Hopefully this will be a great forum to talk
about what's going on in the world.... Carol-Anne will also
be starting a peace journal on the board, writing about her
experiences as a newcomer to the peace movement....
There are going to be Fans For Peace banners and
signs at the shows in Seattle and Las Vegas - if you're going
to a show, let the guys know what you think!! You could even
win some cool Goo prizes! Details here....

Just added two new links - adbusters
magazine, and 101
Ways to Stop the War on Iraq. The first is entertaining
and will make you think; the second is inspiring and will
make you think. Check em out! New FFP submissions coming this
afternoon....

Lots of fresh additions here on the site as the
peace movement is just getting started in its opposition to
the war. What's the atmosphere like where you live? Head on
over to the question of
the month and let us know what you're seeing and feeling.
I do apologize for the delay in getting people's
stuff posted, it's been a crazy month for the whole world....
At any rate, some folks have been added to the fans for peace
list, with new thoughts
as well.... Some art
from Rockin' Robin and a song
by Sarah, along with some new photos in the gallery....
If you have photos from a peace rally, please send 'em in!
We've also got a new page that might make you smile.... On
a road trip to Buffalo, some Fans For Peace "redecorated"
the Goos' hometown -- for peace, of course! Check out the
pictures here!
The Buffalo show was amazing, and afterwards Robby
thanked us for coming! The Goos are really proud to have Fans
For Peace at their shows! So we're giving some special incentives
to bring a "Goo Goo Dolls Fans For Peace" sign or
banner to a concert and show the Goos that we're proud to
be working for peace! For more info on how you can win some
swag by bringing a peace banner to a show, click here!
A quick note about some upcoming events. Martin
Luther King Jr. was assasinated on April 4th, 1968. United
For Peace has called for a series of coordinated local antiwar
actions April 4-7 to commemorate his death and celebrate his
legacy. International ANSWER (Act Now to Stop War and End
Racism) is also organizing mass-mobilizations in DC and San
Francisco on April 13th, with solidarity actions in many cities.

and internationalanswer.org
for more info.

Even though Congress
is the only body that can legally declare war, in the
spinning twilight zone that American politics has become, Bush
has taken that power. War will start in the next 48 hours,
but it's not too late to show your outrage. There are hundreds
of local and national protests, as well as direct action to
disrupt the war machine. Check out unitedforpeace.org,
protest.net, and indymedia.org
to find your last chance to speak out before war starts. Actions
against violence, destruction, terror, and injustice will
continue as long as necessary to work for
PEACE....

The DNC fundraiser show last night was amazing!
John pulled our Fans For Peace banner up on the stage to show
the politicians, and thanked us for voicing our opinions.
Robby gave us guitar picks and said "God bless you guys, I
really mean it." Lots of peace signs being flashed on the
stage -- and on the floor! It was one of the coolest things
I've ever seen, people rockin' out with their hands in peace
signs.... We even got to meet the Goos -- details on the Goos
Speaking Out page.
This'll be the last update until the 24th or so....
I'm taking a little trip to visit some friends and check out
the peace movement in Italy.... But keep up the GOOd work,
everyone!!! I'd love to have lots of wonderful peacegoo stuff
to post when I get back!!!

The International
Women's Day convergence in DC was amazing and powerful....
We were mentioned in the Washington
Post, and probably other papers, too. But even better,
the Goos actually saw our banner!! They talked about it in
the March 8th Tour
Diary (which is copied here),
and I received this e-mail from Robby:
We're proud to be represented at any gathering
that promotes a peaceful resolution to this situation. . .
. . .we saw a GGD FANS FOR PEACE sign in the crowd today.
. . . . . . .with a lump in my throat, i thank you so, so
much for taking the initiative to start and carry out this
awesome idea.
Peace. . . . . . .

Keep up the great work, peacegoos!!

An article about Fans For Peace has been published
on vteens.org!!
A big thanks to Michelle for submitting the article, and a
big welcome to all our new visitors from vteens! Hope you
enjoy looking around the site -- don't forget to check out
all of our interactive elements!!
In the Goo world, the Tour Diary's been signed
with "Peace" every entry.... And another photo with Robby
flashing a peace sign! Thanks, Robby!! That picture, of course,
is now in our photo gallery :-)
Less than a week till the big March 8th protests....
Got plans yet?? Then share them on the message
board!! If not, check out the upcoming
events page to find out how you can get involved.
Bush's drumbeat of war is quickening, but more
and more people are making their own noise and drowning him
out.... Rock & Roll, anyone?? Peace....

Hope you were all able to participate in the virtual
march on Washington today.... Over 500,000 anti-war phone
calls to senators and the White House as of 6:00 this evening,
probably a lot more by the end of the day.... Check out moveon.org/winwithoutwar
to see how it went, and how you can participate in upcoming
events from the comfort of your own home!
Or, if you prefer the real-time type of protest,
dancing in the streets for peace and such.... I've just compiled
a bunch of events happening on International
Women's Day, March 8th. Big group of Goo fans will be in DC
that day, with our now famous pink banner -- care to join
us??
Due to the HUGE number of e-mails on the list,
we've decided to put up a message board for discussions....
Slightly less intrusive than peace-mail filling your inbox
every day.... Check it out!
Finally, we have a brand-new press
page to keep track of our news clippings.... That's right!
Fans For Peace in the news! Hopefully a lot more of that on
the way....

Fans for Peace in Goo Goo Dolls news!!
Go to googoodolls.com,
click on "news" and under "internet" there's a link to the
article that we were mentioned in, and a copy of the photo
Sam took! I also received a thank-you e-mail from the Goos
about the rally! Pretty cool, huh??
Slight change of plans for the next protest....
Looks like the March 1st one isn't coming together, but there
is a really amazing one planned for International Women's
Day, March 8th. So we're gonna switch the Fans for Peace meet-up
to that one.... The Goos are also in DC that day, so we might
invite 'em out.... You never know!!
Speaking of protests, we've got some brand-new
tips that might help you
out at your next event.... More photos and reports from Feb.
15th are on the way.... Keep checkin' back! And have a great
weekend!!

Welcome to the new & improved layout! Those
iFrames were really limiting, and the double-updating was
driving me nuts.... So here we are. Hope ya like it!
The peace rally in NYC this weekend was amazing!
Over half a million people turned out despite the freezing
temperatures and terror warnings. Globally, over eleven million
marched for peace on all seven continents. Here in the US,
we Goo fans were out from coast to coast! Way to go, guys!
I'll be posting reports as they come in, on the fans
speaking out page.... And of course, pictures in the brand
new photo gallery! Our hot pink
banner in NYC was a big hit, and even got on the TV news!!
We also got a mention in a news article here.
Not bad for our first big event!
So who's ready for the next one?? March 1st, Washington
DC, emergency convergence on the White House. So far we've
got at least six folks who'll be there representin' for the
Goos.... The more, the merrier!! More info on internationalANSWER.org.
One more big piece of news -- we now have our
very own fans for peace mailing list! We're hoping it will
be a great forum to talk about peace, politcs, and goo....
If you're on the peace list/petition, you'll be on the mailing
list already.... But if not, it's quick and easy to join!
Just send an e-mail to majordomo@heavenlyintoxication.com
with "subscribe fansforpeace" in the body, and you'll be signed
up!
That's all for today, folks! Thanks for visiting!
